I don't know what I meme

I played a game of Know What I Meme with some friends last night. What I learned is that none of us know what we meme. We ended up searching random keywords trying to find something vaguely prompt relevant. Somehow we ended up with a few good ones anyway, including a distraction lobster in response to the lobster at the supermarket prompt.

Overall I feel confused about this game. It feels like to "know what I meme" I would need to memorize a bunch of search terms that might be relevant and practice going through the list in response to a prompt until the prompt-to-search became more natural. Is the game supposed to work like this where we randomly surface somewhat relevant memes? I don't know.
